"It's like a Christmas present in your email box!" exclaimed Kyleen Dye, the special unit nurse manager at Haciendas at Grace Village.

On November 13th, she started a "Covid Unit" on the campus to provide specialized care for virus patients that do not need ventilators.

"We actually came into existence to be able to alleviate hospital congestion," Dye explained. "They're not quite sick enough to be in the hospital, but there's not quite anywhere for them to go."

In addition to the Covid patients, the campus has long-term residents that have not been able to touch or hug their relatives since March.

"They get sad not being able to see their loved ones," Dye said. "Hopefully this is a turning point where we can get to a point where we can have safe visitations."

'Adopt-A-Resident' Virtual Pen Pal Program

'Adopt-A-Resident' Virtual Pen Pal Program

It’s not every day that students reach out to us for a great way to help out with keeping face-to-face contact with our residents (though it is certainly becoming more common) and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Our residents have been so excited to regularly hear from the students at J. Paul Taylor Academy, it’s been something they look forward to. Thank you so much to the students from JPTA - Addie, Ameila, and Gaia - and Heidi Moccia for both suggesting and making this great way to stay connected a reality.

HOSA Gift Giving

GV_HOSAGifts-3.jpg

Earlier this week, we were blessed to have students from the Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) from Arrowhead Medical Academy bring individual gifts for every staff member and resident. It's things like this that show us love being in this community and reinforce how important every bit of connection is in these difficult times. Thank you to students Sienna, Fatehaswad, Janos, and Merca as well as Marisa from the school for taking the time and making such a positive impact on everyone's day.

Pen Pals with Oñate High School

We are very excited to be working with the Oñate High School student council members who had the fantastic idea to be pen pals for our residents! We're happy that there is such a great way to keep our residents engaged and connected to the community in the absence of having as many visitors in these difficult times.

Testimonial: Mrs. Davis

Knowing I would eventually have to locate in assisted-living/memory care facility for my loved one. I received guidance and my search led to Haciendas at Grace Village.

My family and I can’t be more pleased with the care that my husband is receiving.

The initial contact with the office personnel was very professional, informative and made me feel at ease. All questions I had were answered and then some. Everyone is well informed and assist in any way. There are four haciendas with ten to twelve residents in each. This is what was so appealing for our family. The quiet location and proximity of where we live was another plus.

The care that is shown to all the residents is loving, compassionate, and superb. Everyone’s needs are met no matter what it may be.

No complaints about the food or menu as it is well balanced and appealing. The desert is always welcomed.

If looking for a facility for a loved one, it’s the Haciendas at Grace Village.
